When you choose to contact CyberScot, we may receive your name, organisation, work email address, telephone number and the information you include in your enquiry or later correspondence. Please do not include passwords, security keys or unnecessary sensitive information.

How and why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond, understand your requirements, arrange conversations and take steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract. We may also keep proportionate business correspondence to maintain service records, protect our systems and establish or defend legal claims.

Depending on the circumstances, our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in responding to genuine business enquiries and operating a secure business.

How the website currently handles enquiries

The website prepares an email draft on your device. CyberScot does not receive the details you enter unless you choose to send that email. The public website does not currently use advertising trackers or non-essential cookies.

Sharing and storage

Information may be handled by authorised CyberScot personnel and service providers that support business email, hosting, security and professional advice. We do not sell personal information. Where a provider processes information outside the UK, we use an applicable legal transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard.

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, contractual and support records, applicable legal requirements, or the resolution of a dispute. Retention is reviewed according to the nature of the relationship and the information involved.

Your rights
