01 / Situation

Reduce cost and bring hosting closer.

Street Assist Edinburgh needed website changes and a better hosting arrangement. Its previous European hosting location also created avoidable distance from the people using the service.

02 / Work

Make the changes, then move to Azure.

CyberScot completed the required website work and migrated the charity’s site to Microsoft Azure, aligning the platform with the organisation’s non-profit eligibility.

03 / Outcome

Eligible credits removed the hosting cost.

Microsoft non-profit Azure credits reduced eligible web-hosting costs to zero, while the new location also reduced latency compared with the previous arrangement. Eligibility, credit value and covered services are determined by Microsoft and may change.

02 / Delivery

Sequence the work around dependencies.

CyberScot coordinated the VSS migration, operating-system upgrades and movement through the required platform versions rather than treating each element in isolation.

03 / Supported state

Reach a current Azure DevOps platform.

The staged programme moved the environment onto a supported operating system and a modern Azure DevOps Server platform.
